Keratin on Colored Hair: The Short Answer, No Fluff

Someone asked me this week if keratin is allowed on colored hair. I answered. Then she asked again. Then a third person asked. So now this article exists.
Short answer: yes. Long answer below. Put the kettle on.
The one thing to remember: color first, keratin two weeks later. Not the other way around. Not "every other day." Two weeks.
Why? Fresh keratin is like a brand-new phone with no screen protector: gorgeous, but everything sticks to it. Dye on that surface slides off faster than a Monday mood. Color first, keratin second, and the pigment moves in permanently. Like a tenant who actually pays.
It lasts longer, too. On untouched coarse curls, keratin lives about three months. On colored hair, four to five. Yes, you read that right: for once, the colored-hair people win.
Now for blondes, because you have your own program.
Total blonde and keratin get along. But if the hair is already bleached to porridge, keratin will not save it. A sponge does not become hair because you added keratin. First two to three months of repair (our Cold repair runs 120 to 150 minutes, and no, it does not hurt), then straightening. And bleaching after keratin waits three weeks. Toning yes. Full bleach no. Otherwise the yellow comes back before you finish taking the selfie.
Who I turn away. The list is short but honest.
Henna and basma: no. One client with henna wanted platinum blonde. She left greenish. We both remember that day. Active shedding: trichologist first, beauty second. A fresh perm waits a month, because keratin relaxes the waves and you would pay twice for one haircut. Even for me, that is harsh.
The numbers, because without them this reads like an ad.
Two-layer keratin, botox or nanoplastia on 20 to 30 cm of length starts at 107 euros and runs up to 240 minutes. Full bleaching from 87 euros. Glossing from 46 euros. Sulfate-free shampoo is mandatory: sulfates strip keratin in a month instead of five. Yes, it costs as much as two coffees. Still cheaper than a second keratin. The math checks out.
And yes, the sea. You are in Varna, the beach is right there, I know. Fresh water rinse after every swim. Salt water eats keratin like chips during a Netflix binge: quietly, then completely.
The first 48 hours: no ties, no clips, no washing. The hair is still curing. A tie imprint will look like abstract art, and we will fix it together, on your invoice.
Come in for a free consultation. We will look at your hair, do the math, and I will tell you honestly what you can book and what should stay in the ban list.
Yes, you can. How to combine color and keratin without redoing anything, and who gets turned away.
